Forced Air Heat - What it is

Forced air heating systems are one of the most common types of heating systems in Canada. Forced air heating uses air to transfer heat throughout the home via a series of ducts and vents. These systems heat your home quickly and are energy efficient.

Forced Air Heat - How it Works

In forced air heating systems the air is distributed through a series of vents and ducts. There are 2 main types of forced air heating systems:

  • mid efficiency models - use combustion and a heat chamber to heat up the air and circulate it through air ducts.
  • high efficiency models - these have a secondary heat exchanger which draws the maximum heat out of the flue before it gets expelled.
